How many of ya'll can remember you or your sisters, your daughters or your friends getting burnt in the Kitchen by hot irons or chemicals.
Their needs to be free classes on how to do these natural methods of hair care.
People are afraid to try natural styles because they have to go to an expert to start them correctly. and it could be expensive. hell a perm only cost 5 dollars. that's affordable. but braids cost at least 40 for a basic style. Perming is the cheapest and fastest way to get your hair organized. many black women can't braid or know don't how to start dreads or cut an Afro. This is no fault of their own.
There is not enough research being done on natural haircare products that actually work. Many have to mix up stuff in their kitchen. It ok to be a Kitchen Beautician but it would be a great help to know what the hell we doing with our hair instead of guessing or paying money we need for essentials in order to wear a natural style with out embarrassment. It is not easy to make a natural style. In fact it is very hard and nearly impossible to do with out some skills.
On the perm product there are instructions on how to do it, but when you buy a natural product
and there ain't jack shit on the bottle about how to use it. barely the ingredients. The natural methods are fairly new and people are not sharing the information. Some are trying to make a large profit doing these styles and many cant afford them.
If you don't have some one in your family to help you out with a natural style you are basically out of luck and have to revert to the easiest method which is perming it. We need people to start posting information and teaching these methods to these single mom and multiracial families so that they wont suffer.
